Unpacked 2017: The Next Galaxy is Here!
Samsung just announced its latest flagship smartphone of the year for 2017 in its Unpacked event held in New York. Samsung announced Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphone. Both the smartphone have Infinity Display, which is an end-to-end, bezel-less screen that extends to the phone's sides.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ screen and the S8+ comes with a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ screen, both the devices comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on front and the back. Both the smartphone have an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 4/6GB RAM and 64/128 GB of internal storage.
For better photography, the smartphones are equipped with 12MP Dual Pixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and 8MP auto-focus front camera with f/1.7 aperture. Both the smartphone comes with many sensors like Accelerometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Hall Sensor, Heart Rate Sensor, Iris sensor, Pressure Sensor etc.
The Galaxy S8 comes with a 3000 mAh battery while S8+ have a 3500 mAh battery. Both the smartphone supports fast charging on wired and wireless charging.
This time Samsung has removed its traditional hardware home button and replaced it with on-screen buttons like we see on other Android smartphones. It also offers haptic feedback like Apple's iPhone offering virtual feeling of pressing a home button when pressed on specific spot where the button appears. It is done to extend the screen to fit a larger display in a compact size. The Fingerprint sensor now moves to the rear, besides the camera. For added security it also have the Iris scanner and the face detection techniques.
It also has Bixby that promises more personalized experience to enhance the way people interact with their smartphone and the world around them. It is the voice assistant as we seen like Apple's Siri and Google's Google Assistant.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ come in Blue, Silver, Grey, Black and Gold colors variants. The Galaxy S8 is priced at $750 which is Rs.48660 approx and the Galaxy S8+ costs $850 which is around 55140 approx. Both the smartphone will be available starting April 21. No information regarding India launch yet.
