Apple unveiled the latest iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X at a event held in San Francisco last night. Well the people have many expectation from Apple because Samsung is already offering great deal with Galaxy S8 and now with Note 8. iPhone 8 and 8 Plus seems to be a minor upgrade from the last year's iPhone 7 and 7 Plus but iPhone X is the game changer. It comes with a complete bezel-less design and most promising hardware.

iPhone 8 and 8 Plus have 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch Retina HD displays, but these have a new glass and aluminum design and it says that it has been made out of the most durable glass ever in a smartphone. The much awaited fast charging is now available in iPhones. Both the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus have a support of fast charging that can charge the phone up to 50% in 30 minutes.

The new iPhones has new processors that promises 25% efficiency and faster performance. iPhone 8 has new 12 MP camera with improved sensor while the iPhone 8 Plus has dual 12 MP camera that has now Portrait Lighting that uses dual camera and the Apple designed image signal processor to recognize the scene, create a depth map and separate the subject from the background.

Now talk about iPhone X. Apple calling it company's latest top-end iPhone. It has 5.8-inch (2436*1125 pixel) OLED Super Retina edge-to-edge display. It has the higher pixel density among all iPhones. It does not come with a home button, instead it uses Face ID, face recognition technology to unlock the phone, powered by neural engine with dual-core, design that can carry out 600bn operations per second. It is powered by the new A11 Bionic chip, same as iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. It also have the support for fast charging and have 12 MP dual rear cameras for better photography.

Now the main question every time an iPhone launch! The PRICE. Well iPhone 8 is priced at US $699 for 64GB and iPhone 8 Plus is priced at US $799 fro 64 GB variant. It will be available in India from September 29th and the starting price will be Rs.64000. The High end iPhone X is priced at US $ 999 and It will be available in India from 3rd November and the starting price will be of Rs.89000.

For the last few days, you must read about the trending news about Chandigarh boy of getting dream job at Google as Graphic Designer for whopping package of Rs. 1.44 Crore. What is the truth behind the story. Let's dig out and find!

Harshit, 16, from Kurukshetra (Haryana), Class XII (IT Stream) student of Govt. Model Sr. Secondary School, reportedly received a phone call from Google in June offering a paid internship in California as a Graphic Designer. It was told that he would be paid Rs.4 lakh per month for 12 months of training after that he will get a salary package of Rs.12 lakh per month. He said that graphic designing is his passion and doing it for past 6 years. He appeared for the online interview for the post and selected as the basis of posters he created in his free time.

This news is exciting that an Indian boy bags a dream job in Google with a very high package. Every top local and national media houses pick up the news immediately and make Harshit a star overnight. But what happen next that changed the life of the boy and gives us a shock.

After the trending news all over the media. On Tuesday, Google denied having offered paid training and job to Harshit and clearly stated that they haven't any record of such type of job offer. Now the complete story turns out to be a hoax. But it doesn't go well with the boy who actually assume the fake offer as real one. According to his mother the incident devastated her son's life, peoples and relative how are praising and congratulating him for his success now taunting him. He is very depressed now and has been admitted to hospital.

It all happened when Harshit get a call that he has been selected as a graphic designer at Google. He informed the principle of his school. The principle without confirming the news, immediately released a press note regarding the job offer and it becomes complete mess and the news trending on all the local and national media publications.

The silly mistake from the boys and the principle's end ruined the life of the boy. Both of them should verify the job offer first before making the announcement. The boy is now under depression and traumatized. The peoples reaction is usual but I think they should stop taunting him as it all happen because of misconception. I want you all to please don't believe in these type of hoax and if you get this type of job offer or anything related regarding online money earning or lottery, please do not believe them blindly. It will cost you!

Samsung just announced its latest flagship smartphone of the year for 2017 in its Unpacked event held in New York. Samsung announced Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphone. Both the smartphone have Infinity Display, which is an end-to-end, bezel-less screen that extends to the phone's sides.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ screen and the S8+ comes with a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ screen, both the devices comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on front and the back. Both the smartphone have an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 4/6GB RAM and 64/128 GB of internal storage.

For better photography, the smartphones are equipped with 12MP Dual Pixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and 8MP auto-focus front camera with f/1.7 aperture. Both the smartphone comes with many sensors like Accelerometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Hall Sensor, Heart Rate Sensor, Iris sensor, Pressure Sensor etc.

The Galaxy S8 comes with a 3000 mAh battery while S8+ have a 3500 mAh battery. Both the smartphone supports fast charging on wired and wireless charging.

This time Samsung has removed its traditional hardware home button and replaced it with on-screen buttons like we see on other Android smartphones. It also offers haptic feedback like Apple's iPhone offering virtual feeling of pressing a home button when pressed on specific spot where the button appears. It is done to extend the screen to fit a larger display in a compact size. The Fingerprint sensor now moves to the rear, besides the camera. For added security it also have the Iris scanner and the face detection techniques.

It also has Bixby that promises more personalized experience to enhance the way people interact with their smartphone and the world around them. It is the voice assistant as we seen like Apple's Siri and Google's Google Assistant.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ come in Blue, Silver, Grey, Black and Gold colors variants. The Galaxy S8 is priced at $750 which is Rs.48660 approx and the Galaxy S8+ costs $850 which is around 55140 approx. Both the smartphone will be available starting April 21. No information regarding India launch yet.

Micromax, The Indian smartphone manufacturer, finally launched its flagship smartphone after a long time period. The brand seems a bit confident this time and priced the smartphone at Rs.24999. Yes! You read it right. Rs.24999 for a Micromax smartphone. Is it worth the price, Lets check out its specification overview.

The Micromax Dual 5 smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch Full-HD AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It has an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage. The main highlight of the smartphone is its dual rear camera setup. It has dual 13 MP camera equipped with Sony sensor, One with monochrome lens for capturing details and other with RGB lens. The secondary camera also offer background blur. It has f/1.8 aperture. It also have a 13 MP front facing camera with soft LED flash for better selfies in low light condition. It also have 4G LTE and VoLTE support. It has a fingerprint scanner on back and an IR blaster. It is equipped with 3200 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support.

So, Looking at the specification excluding processor (Snapdragon 820/821 will be better choice) the smartphone looks promising, especially for the camera. But, it is still worth the price of Rs.24999? Hmm, Might not! Because we already know about the poor after sales service of Micromax. It is the main reason that the brand, which is best in the country at a time, now struggling in the market.

And, even after this, if you are still looking to buy the smartphone for Micromax efforts and the great camera. I have an another reason, why you should not buy it!

Well, you are thinking Micromax has done a lot of efforts to give finally a powerful smartphone after a long time, We should give them an another chance. But wait! Does Micromax deserve this opportunity. I think NO! The smartphone, Micromax launched today is a re-branded Qiku smartphone. Yes! It is a re-branded smartphone from Micromax. It is almost same as Qiku 360 Q5 smartphone with Micromax logo.

Qiku 360 Q5 has the same specification, as Micromax Dual 5 and even the same design. The only minor difference you will see, is in the software department, but the Big difference is the PRICE!

Qiku launched the smartphone in China for CNY 1999, which is approx Rs.18900. And Micromax Dual 5 is priced at Rs.24999. The difference is about Rs.6099. So Micromax wants you to give 6k extra for Qiku Q5 to get Micromax logo on it. Like seriously! There is no harm in re-branding smartphones, but at least maintain the price.

Finally Nokia is back in the smartphone market after being acquired by Microsoft. HMD Global is the new home for Nokia. All new upcoming Nokia devices will be manufactured by HMD Global.

HMD Global today announced the Global comeback for Nokia in smartphones at a MWC 2017 event in Barcelona, Spain. Nokia announced 3 smartphones- Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 along with the iconic Nokia 3310.

How is Nokia different from other smartphone?

Well the main difference is the name, Nokia: the name is enough! Nokia is the brand which is most reliable all across the globe. The new thing is that Nokia announced is: -

Nokia smartphone will bring premium design to all users not just flagships.
Nokia smartphone will come with Pure Android experience with easy to use interface.
Nokia smartphone will get monthly security updates.

All the three Nokia smartphone comes with Android 7.1 Nougat operating system and Google Assistant.

Nokia 6: -

Nokia 6 is a mid range smartphone, comes with a 5.5-inch Full-HD (1920*1080 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and powered by Snapdragon 430 SoC. It has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of Internal Storage. On the photography side, It has 16 MP rear camera with dual tone LED flash and 8 MP of front facing camera.

The Nokia 6 is manufactured from a block of aluminum with diamond cut edges. It also have a another Arte Black limited edition version which has a glossy design and 4GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage.

Nokia 6 will cost you 229 euros while the glossy Arte Black variant cost you 299 euros.

Nokia 5: -

The second smartphone comes from Nokia is Nokia 5. It comes with a 5.2-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and powered by Snapdragon 430 SoC. It has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of Internal Storage. On the photography side, It has 13 MP rear camera and 8 MP of front facing camera.

The main difference between the Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 is design. While the Nokia 5 is also aluminum, it has curved edges that make the display feel like it's bleeding into metal casing. As a result, it feels a lot nicer to hold.

Nokia 5 is priced at 189 euros and available in blue, silver, matte black and copper color variants.

Nokia 3: -

The third and final new Nokia Android phone is the Nokia 3. It comes with a 5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and powered by quad-core MTK 6737 processor. It has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of Internal Storage. On the photography side, It has 8 MP rear camera and 8 MP of front facing camera.

Unlike the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6, the Nokia 3 features a poly-carbonate black, with aluminum frame. It feels more like one of the lower end Lumia devices we're used to seeing, with familiar design.

The Nokia 3 is priced at 139 euros and available in blue, silver, matte black and copper color variants.

Nokia 3310: -

Nokia 3310 is a feature phone. It is the revamped variant of iconic Nokia 3310. It has 2.4-inch QVGA display and Nokia Series 30+ operating system. It has 16MB of internal memory which can be expandable upto 32 GB. It also have a 2 MP rear camera with LED flash. It has a removal 1200 mAh of battery.

It also has the legendary Snake game. It has a little update that makes it even more fun to play on color screen of Nokia 3310.

Nokia 3310 comes in warm red, yellow, dark blue color and priced at 49 euros.

Jio is no longer 'FREE' after the "Happy New Year" offer, expires on 31th March 2017. That seems a very big problem for some Jio users because many of these are using the Jio sim only for free data.

Mr. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries at the Jio's special event today announced that Reliance Jio has crossed 100 million customers in 170 days of launch, adding 7 customers every second on an average. He also said that Jio customers used 200 crore minutes of voice and video calls everyday and 100 crore GB data a month.

He announced that the free Happy New Year offer ends on 31st March but voice calls, including roaming will remain free across India as promised earlier by Jio and company will match the highest selling tariff of other rival operators and provide 20% more data than what other operator provides.

He also launched Jio Prime membership at one-time payment of Rs.99 for a year which will continue the Happy New Year offer for 1 Year by paying Rs.303 per month. If you don't want to opt for the Jio Prime membership, you can choose any other plan provided by Jio.

Now many of the people have confusion regarding the Jio Prime membership offer. So I will try to clear you doubts regarding this.

What is Jio Prime Membership?

In this offer, you have to pay Rs.99 as membership fee for one year. You can activate this membership through MyJio app, Jio.com and retail stores from 1st to 31st March 2017. After activating the Jio Prime membership, you can enjoy all the benefits of the Happy New Year offer(i.e: free calls, free unlimited data(1 GB per day and unlimited at 128 kbps speed after it)), including full bouquet of Jio's media services(JioTV, JioMusic, etc) at an introductory price of Rs.303 per month, which is Rs.10 per day on average till 31th March 2018. Which means you have to pay Rs.303 per month to get unlimited free calls and 30 GB 4G data (unlimited at reduced speed).

Samsung, finally revealed the in-depth investigation report regarding Galaxy Note 7 explosions. Samsung in a Statement said, " Based on detailed analysis of the affected batteries, both Battery A from the 1st recall and Battery B from the 2nd recall, we identified separate factors that originated in and were specific to the different batteries."

The Final Report:-

Battery 'A' Assessment:-

1. There may be multiple contributing factors relating to battery assembly/manufacturing and design that combined led to the failure of the Note 7 in the field.

A. Battery assembly/manufacturing:

Deformation at the upper corners

B. Battery Design:

Thinner separator could lead to poorer protection and reduced tolerance to manufacturing defects
Higher energy density in general can exacerbate the severity of a battery failure

2. One major failure mechanism likely:

A combination of deformation at the upper corners+thin separator+repeating mechanical stresses due to cycling, causing higher possibility of separator damage leading to an ISC between aluminium and copper foil at the corner.

3. Additional investigation is needed to understand the root-cause of the deformations at the upper corners.

Battery B Assessment:-

1. No evidence of device-level compatibility issue that may have contributed to the failure of the Galaxy Note 7 in the field.

2. There may be multiple contributing factors relating to production quality and battery design that when combined led to the failure of Note 7 in the field.

A. Product Quality:

Missing insulation tape on tab could result in higher possibility of ISC
Bigger protrusion of welding points in tab could lead to higher possibility of seperator puncture
Misalignment of insulation tape and/or tab could bring more risk of ISC

B. Battery Design:

Thinner separator could lead to poorer protection and reduced tolerance to manufacturing defects
Higher energy density in general can exacerbate the severity of battery failure

3. One major failure mechanism for field incidents is likely: The combination of (1) missing insulation tape+ (2) sharp edged protrusions on tab + (3) thin separator, all leading to a high possibility of an ISC between cathode tab and anode, subsequently resulting in heating and fire.

4. Further analysis is needed to understand the root-cause of the damage to the edge/corner of the battery which results in ISC at that location.

Following the Note 7 incidents, Samsung said that it has developed strict quality assurance protocols across its entire development process in an effort to renew its commitment to safety. This includes, 8-Point Battery Safety Check, multi-layer safety measures protocol and new battery advisory group.

Today, we will talk about the recognition techniques. You already heard about OCR, OMR and MICR, these are the recognition techniques used in today's computer systems. So lets get started with OCR:-

OCR (Optical Character Recognition):-

OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition. It is the mechanical or electronic translation of scanned images of handwritten, typed or printed text into the machine-encoded text. It is widely used to convert books and documents into electronic files, to computerize a record-keeping system in an office, or to publish the text on a website. OCR makes it possible to edit the text, search for a word or phrase, store it compactly in digital format of any printed document. OCR is a field of research in pattern recognition, artificial intelligence and computer vision.

OCR system require calibration to read a specific font, early versions needed to be programmed with the images of each character, and worked on one font at a time. "Intelligent" system with a high degree of recognition accuracy for most fonts are now common. Some system are capable of reproducing formatted output that closely approximates the original scanned page including images, column and other non-textual components. It uses two methods for recognition: Matrix matching and Feature extraction.

OMR (Optical Mark Recognition/Reader):-

You already aware of the word OMR. It is widely used for conducting surveys, competitive exams, etc. So what basically OMR is? OMR stands for Optical Mark Recognition. It is a recognition technique which reads the pencil/pen marks on NCS compatible scan forms such as surveys or test answer forms. If that all seems overly technique to you, just thing of it as the machine checks multiple choice computer forms. The computer test forms designed for the OMR are known as NCS compatible scan forms. Tests and surveys completed on these forms are read in by the scanner, checked, and then the results are saved to a file.

OMR is the process of capturing data by contrasting reflectivity at predetermined positions on a page. By shining a beam of light onto the paper, the scanner is able to detect a marked area because it reflects less light than the blank areas of the paper. Some OMR devices use forms which are preprinted onto "Trans-optic paper" and measure the amount of light which passes through the paper, thus a mark on either side of the paper will reduce the amount of light passing through the paper.

MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition):-

MICR stands for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition. It is a character recognition technology used primarily by the banking industry to facilitate the processing of cheques and makes up the routing number and account number at the bottom of a cheque. The technology allows computers to read information (such as account numbers, bank code, etc) of printed document.

MICR characters are printed in special typefaces with a magnetic ink or toner, usually containing iron oxide. As a machine decodes the MICR text, it first magnetizes the characters in the plane of the paper. Then the characters are passed over a MICR read head, a device similar to the playback head of a tape recorder. As each character passes over the head it produces a unique waveform that can be easily identified by the system. The use of magnetic printing allows the characters to be read reliably even if they have been overprinted or obsured by other marks, such as cancellation stams and signature. The error rate for the magnetic scanning of a typical cheque is smaller than with optical recognition systems.

The Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi launched a mobile payment platform as an app, known as BHIM. BHIM represents for Bharat Interface for Money. The app is developed by National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI). The app is basically based on UPI.

UPI is Unified Payment Interface, is a payment system that allow us to send and receive money using our smartphones. It is different from the mobile wallets we use for this, because in UPI, the funds directly transfer from one bank to another without storing the money on any wallet. The benefit is, we can transfer money to anyone without knowing there account number or any other details like IFSC code, branch code, etc. UPI can work both online and offline. We can use it offline using USSD code *99#.

So, Now I will show you the step to step guide to use the BHIM app:-

Download and Install the BHIM app from Google Playstore (The app is not available for iOS yet)
Open the app, then you asked to choose language (Hindi or English).
Then you are asked to verify your mobile number associated with your bank account. Now if you are using a dual-sim smartphone, choose the sim which is associated with your bank account. (The app will verify your number by sending a sms).
Once the verification is complete, you have to enter a four digit pass-code. (This will used for login to BHIM app every-time you open it).
After that, you have to choose your bank name, then it will automatically fetch your bank account details through the registered mobile number.
Now just setup your MPIN through the app, which is basically 6-digit code. (It is used as a password, when you are sending money to anyone)
Now you will see the option of send money, request money, scan and pay.

Now you are ready with your BHIM app. You can now send or receive money using your mobile number. If you don't want to share your mobile number, you can also generate QR code, that will help you to receive money without sharing your mobile number.
