Jio is no longer 'FREE' after the "Happy New Year" offer, expires on 31th March 2017. That seems a very big problem for some Jio users because many of these are using the Jio sim only for free data.
Mr. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries at the Jio's special event today announced that Reliance Jio has crossed 100 million customers in 170 days of launch, adding 7 customers every second on an average. He also said that Jio customers used 200 crore minutes of voice and video calls everyday and 100 crore GB data a month.
He announced that the free Happy New Year offer ends on 31st March but voice calls, including roaming will remain free across India as promised earlier by Jio and company will match the highest selling tariff of other rival operators and provide 20% more data than what other operator provides.
He also launched Jio Prime membership at one-time payment of Rs.99 for a year which will continue the Happy New Year offer for 1 Year by paying Rs.303 per month. If you don't want to opt for the Jio Prime membership, you can choose any other plan provided by Jio.
Now many of the people have confusion regarding the Jio Prime membership offer. So I will try to clear you doubts regarding this.
What is Jio Prime Membership?
In this offer, you have to pay Rs.99 as membership fee for one year. You can activate this membership through MyJio app, Jio.com and retail stores from 1st to 31st March 2017. After activating the Jio Prime membership, you can enjoy all the benefits of the Happy New Year offer(i.e: free calls, free unlimited data(1 GB per day and unlimited at 128 kbps speed after it)), including full bouquet of Jio's media services(JioTV, JioMusic, etc) at an introductory price of Rs.303 per month, which is Rs.10 per day on average till 31th March 2018. Which means you have to pay Rs.303 per month to get unlimited free calls and 30 GB 4G data (unlimited at reduced speed).
