Reliance Jio launched JioPhone with 4G VoLTE for FREE!
Reliance Jio announced its new feature phone today at its 40th Annual General Meeting, held in Mumbai. Jio is calling the feature phone as "India ka Smartphone". The main highlight of the phone is its absolutely FREE. Yes! You heard it right, its free for all.
The Reliance Jio Phone is effectively free for all but to avoid potential misuse of free phone. Customers will have to pay Rs.1500 as security deposit to purchase to Jio Phone. Which will be refunded after 3 years.
Jio Phone is the one of the most innovative feature phone. It has a innovative voice assistant in regional languages and comes with 4G VoLTE support. The Jio Phone can also be plugged in to any smart TV or older CRT TVs to mirror content of phone to big screen. Another features includes an Alphanumeric keypad, 4-way Navigation buttons, 2.4-inch QVGA display, SD card slot and a torch light. It comes pre-loaded with Jio Cinema, Jio Music and Jio TV apps.
The Jio Phone comes with a special tariff plan of Rs.153/month, which gives the user Unlimited 4G data, calls, SMS and Jio apps subscription for free. (Daily data limit is 500MB after that speed will reduced to 128kbps). It also has Rs.309 pack called as Jio Phone TV Cable that allow you to enjoy Jio TV on any TV connected with you JioPhone.
The JioPhone will be available on 15th August for testing purposes. Pre-booking starts on 24th August and sale starts from early September as first come first serve basis.
